Match the stone
Check measurements, carat weight, shape, color, clarity and other identifying details. Some diamonds may carry a laser inscription referenced on the report.
Read the comments
Treatments, growth origin, inscriptions and other relevant observations may appear in comments or dedicated fields. Do not stop at the headline grades.
Separate grading from value
A grading report describes characteristics. It is not automatically an appraisal, resale-price guarantee or statement that a seller’s asking price is fair.
Verify at the source.
BBB should route report verification to the grading laboratory’s official verification system rather than pretending to be the issuing laboratory. This keeps the trust chain clear.
